and enemy rival to  Power, Thomas of Lancaster
[about whom I wrote a sort of mini book
[HAHAHA] [1] signed the Treaty of Leake [2], at Leake, a village
in Nottinghamshire with the meaning

INTRODUCTION:

Readers,
This is a fascinating story about
Thomas of Lancaster and the persons
and events that played an important part in his
life in a very turbulent time.
But like
all fascinating stories, it is not told
in two minutes. It is a real longread.
My advice to my you:
READ IT LIKE A BOOK!
Don’t read all chapters at one time,
because you will be overwhelmed, unless
you are totally fascinated.

Or when you are pressed with time, with time, read the Epilogue,

which gives my final opinion about Thomas of Lancaster and a
summary of this fascinating story….

To understand the political situation
in the early fourteenth century, especially
chapter one, four and five are important.
Chapters six describes the outbreak of the
war between Thomas and his cousin
the King, the chapters seven and eight the
dramatic end.
Chapters nine and ten, what happened
thereafter.

And I end with the Epilogue, giving my final opinion
about the life and activitities of Thomas of Lancaster.
Read all the Chapters with care and attention and you
will enter the Medieval world…..

See the article of Encyclopaedia Britannica about
the House of York

Although I have much appreciation for their
historical work I had some comments about their
remarks on their Page, regarding the alleged ”usurpation”
of the House of Lancaster by the House of York,
by deposing King Henry VI by Edward of York, son
of Richard, Duke of York, in 1461, as the socalled
”weakness” in the claim to the throne by
Richard of York, because derived from females.

Dear Editors,
At first I want to express my great admiration for your

of human history
I especially paid attention on your contributions
to the English Late Medieval History and visited
your page about the Hundred Years War between England
and France  with pleasure, learning much of your
information

COMMENTS
A historian myself, I wrote some articles about the
Wars of the Roses [1]
See some of my articles  below.
Regarding your excellent contributions,  I have  read
your page about the House of York with
much interest.
See
ENCYCLOPAEDIA BRITANNICA, HOUSE OF YORK
However I want to make some comments on your contribution,
referring to your remarks about the ”usurpation” of the House of
Lancaster by the House of York, as the ”weakness” of the
claim to the throne by Richard, Duke of York, being derived by
females.

INTRODUCTION
Dear Readers,
Recently I wrote about the Wars of Roses, with respect to the role
of Margaret of Anjou, wife of King Henry VI and her great adversary,
Richard, Duke of York.
”English history/The Wars of the Roses/Margaret of Anjou and
Richard, Duke of York, two major players
AND
The wars of Roses were the civil war in late medieval England
between the rivaling royal branches of the Plantagenet dynasty, the
Houses of Lancaster and York, both claiming superior rights
to the throne.
Recently I encountered the very intesting blog ”Emily Tudor talk
with the article
”THE CLAIMS OF LANCASTER AND YORK”
The author defends the view, that the Lancasters had a superior
right to the throne.
In underlying article I defend, why
the House of York had a more superior right to the throne, which
is supported by modern history.
See also my letter to the author
AND
It is a little complicated, but when you are prepared to go into the
fascinating medieval world and read my previous article first, you
will make the impressive journey to the past again.
See my article, again

of Margaret of Anjou, wife of King Henry VI and her great adversary,
Richard, Duke of York.

fascinating medieval world and read my previous article first, you
will make the impressive journey to the past again.
See my article, again
