It was  to be expected,that  the death[1] of the colourful Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez [2] caused passionate reactions by friend or enemy.
His Western political adversaries emphasized his ”dictatorship” and oppression
of the freedom of opinion [3], a critic, that is partly shared by human rights organisation
Human Rights Watch [4]
Chavez leftist supporters [publicists/organisations] and politicians like Latin American leaders like Fidel Castro [Cuba], Morales [Bolivia] and Correa [Ecuador, who granted
Julian Assange political asylum], admired his social engagement and anti imperialism [5], which sometimes led to  exaggerated admiration
Chavez was also praised by politicians, who had their own reason to be anti Western, like
the Iranian president Ahmadinejad, the Surinam president and ex dictator D Bouterse [6]  and
the president of Belarus, Lukashenko [all the three were present at Chavez’ funeral]

President Hugo Chavez  was een markante figuur en zoals wel te verwachten was, maakte zijn overlijden bij vriend en vijand veel reacties los.
Door zijn Westerse politieke tegenstanders en media werd de  nadruk gelegd op zijn ”dictatoriale” kant en zijn onderdrukking [in eigen land] van de vrijheid van meningsuiting
Deze kritiek werd grotendeels gedeeld door mensenrechtenorganisaties als Human Rights Watch en Amnesty International

Geachte Redactie
Bij dezen wil ik graag uw aandacht vragen voor het volgende:
In uw berichtgeving dd 3 december ”Israel verwerpt kritiek op
bouwplan” vermeldt u, dat Israel, bij monde van premier Netanyahu
de Amerikaanse en Europese kritiek op ”het besluit om 3000 huizen
te bouwen in Oost-Jeruzalem en de Westelijke Jordaanoever” [uw bewoordingen]
verwerpt
Na vermeld te hebben, dat zowel Groot Brittannie als Frankrijk hierover
de Israelische ambassadeur op het matje hebben geroepen, eindigt u uw
berichtgeving met de door VN Secretaris Generaal Ban ki Moon gemaakte
opmerking, dat de bouw, als die doorgaat, een nekslag is voor het
vredesproces

Ongetwijfeld bent u op de hoogte van het recente Israelische legeroptreden in internationale wateren tegen Gaza schip de Estelle, dat vergeefs heeft geprobeerd, de Israelische Gaza blokkade, die de Gazaanse bevolking langzaam uithongert, te doorbreken
