Not only the Western boycott of Durban II and the attitude on the Ahmadinejad speech lacks a fundamental respect for fundamental human rights, it is also hypocritical seeing in the light of her implicite support for the Israeli regime of occupation, letting get Israel away with human rights violations and war-crimes

EK onder de 21 jaar in Israel/Reactie op KNVB brief

 

Geachte lezers,Onlangs stuurde ik een brief aan de KNVB tav hun deelname aan
het EK onder de 21 jaar in Israel.
Hierbij protesteerde ik vanwege hun morele ondersteuning
van het Israelische bezettingsregime, dat ook Palestijnse voetballers
keihard treft.
Ik vond, dat de KNVB solidair met hen moest zijn en uiteraard

Brief aan de KNVB over deelname aan het EK onder 21 jaar in Israel

BRIEF AAN DE KNVB OVER DEELNAME AAN HET EK ONDER DE 21 JAAR

IN ISRAEL

Geachte lezers,
Zoals u waarschijnlijk weet neemt de KNVB dit jaar deel
aan de EK voetbalkampioenschappen voor jongeren beneden de
21 jaar, dat in Israel zal plaatsvinden
Aangezien Israel met zijn onrechtmatige bezettingsregime sinds 1967 de
rechten van de Palestijnse bevolking systematisch schendt, waarvan ook voetballers
slachtoffer worden  heb ik onderstaande brief aan de KNVB geschreven om ze
op te roepen, af te zien van deelname in Israel.
Zo niet, dan zijn zij moreel medeplichtig aan steun aan het Israelische bezettingsregime. Verder lezen →

gecontinueerde verkoop van Israelische producten
Reden
Israel is een bezettingsstaat, die zich decennialang heeft schuldig
gemaakt en nog maakt aan fundamentele schendingen van de rechten
van de Palestijnse bevolking.
de Staat Israel ”staat” voor systematische mensenrechtenschendingen,
oorlogsmisdaden en misdaden tegen de menselijkheid

Israel’s new government must drop a proposed law that would lead to mass forced evictions of Bedouin people and instead pursue legislation to protect Bedouin housing rights, Amnesty International said, as the Ministerial Committee on Legislation is due to consider the proposal on Sunday.

Palestinian boycott activists are calling on the Netherlands’ Prince Willem-Alexander to reconsider his decision to lend his name to a water project undertaken by the Jewish National Fund Netherlands in the Naqab/Negev desert in the south of present-day Israel. The project is in honor of the prince’s inauguration as king later this month.

Omar Barghouti, a Palestinian human rights activist and a founder of the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement, told The Electronic Intifada: “The [JNF] has played a key role in the dispossession of the Palestinians and in colonizing their lands. Today, [the JNF] continues its explicitly racist practices against Palestinians and rejects any notion of equal rights for all. Palestinian civil society appreciates the prominence that equality and non-discrimination have in the Dutch constitution and based on this, appeal to Prince Willem-Alexander to reconsider his decision to lend his name to a project of the JNF.”
