KLM complicity with the deportation of an Afghan family to unsafe and dangerous Afghanistan/Letter to the KLM

UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS AFGHANISTAN/LETTER TO THE KLM
LETTER TO THE KLM:
TO KLM BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND MANAGEMENT
REQUEST NOT TO DEPORT AN AFGHAN FAMILY TO UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS AFGHANISTAN
REASON:
PERSONAL DANGER AND GENERAL DANGEROUS SITUATION IN
WAR STRICKEN AFGHANISTAN
AMSTERDAM 8TH OF APRIL 2013
Dear Board of Directors
Dear Management
By this I want to ask your attention for the following
I have learnt from reliable source, that the KLM is planning to cooperate with
the deportation of the Afghan family Khorshidi, a father, mother and three children [aged 14, 9 and 4]  to dangerous, war stricken Afghanistan
after been denied denied asylum
See picture
The deportation will take place at 9 april from Schiphol
Departure time 14.30
Flight 0427
As you will undoubtedly know, because it is a war stricken country, the situation
in Afghanistan is very dangerous as is the human rights situation, which puts the
familiy in great trouble and danger
How dangerous the situation really is, is to be read in the Ambtsbericht of the Dutch Ministry of Interior Affairs, dd 4 july 2012,
especially on the pages 32-35 and 48-63
See the Ambtsbericht
The humanitarian disaster the family will face is caused by the fight between
the American/Western troops and the Taliban, the fight between war lords and
the serious criminality, stemmed from the chaotic situation.
Summary executions and abductions are part of the daily life.
Being an air transport company it is your moral duty, not to cooperate with
deportations to unsafe and dangerous countries.
When I wrote you in the past about your deportation cooperation to unsafe and war countries, you mentioned, that you were only the air transporter and that the Dutch
government made the asylum policy
I say to you:
You can’t use that cheap excuse:
As an air transport company you have an own choice and responsibility.
THESE ARE NOT JUST WORDS!
In the past failed asulumseekers, who were deported, have been imprisoned or killed
after their deportation.
A horrible example is the Afghan asylumseeker Nezam Azimi, a known opponent of the
Taliban, who was refused asylum by the then immigration minister mrs R Verdonk.
He is deported in 2006 and killed by the Taliban in 2010 [1]
In such a case the Dutch authorities are head responsible [2], but also the
air transport company, which has cooperated with this deportation.
EPILOGUE
It’s not the first time I and others confront KLM with the cooperation of deportation
to dangerous and war stricken territories
See my underlying letter to the KLM on behalf of the Afghan refugee Parwais Sangari
I warn you:
When you nevertheless deport this Afghan family and they will be in danger, you are
morally responsible for their human rights violations, because you have cooperated
to the inhuman Dutch asylum policy
AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE BLOOD ON YOUR HANDS!
I urge to you NOT to cooperate with this deportation on 9 april
Kind greetings
Astrid Essed

According to International Human Rights Treaties it is forbidden to
deport refugees, when their life and freedom is threatened because of
personal persecution [article 33, UN Refugee Treaty] or torture
This also implies deportation to war countries

Article 33. – Prohibition of expulsion or return (“refoulement”)

1. No Contracting State shall expel or return (“refouler”) a refugee in any manner whatsoever to the frontiers of territories where his life or freedom would be threatened on account of his race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion.

EARLER LETTER TO THE KLM ABOUT THE DEPORTATION OF

AN AFGHAN REFUGEE, PARWAIS SANGARI

LETTER TO THE KLM:
TO KLM BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND MANAGEMENT
REQUEST NOT TO DEPORT PARWAIS SANGARI TO AFGHANISTAN
REASON:
PERSONAL DANGER AND GENERAL DANGEROUS SITUATION IN
WAR STRICKEN AFGHANISTAN
AMSTERDAM 8TH OF JULY 2012
Dear Board of Directors
Dear Management
Tomorrow, Monday the 9th of july, KLM is cooperating
with the deportation of Parwais Sangari Afghan refugee, to Afghanistan
on the request of the Belgian authorities, which denied him asylum
and flew him to Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam
Flight KL 0451
Departure time 13.40
I urgently appeal to you, not to cooperate with his deportation, since
his life will be at risk
Earlier his house was burned and his father killed, for
political reasons
See for Background: [English translation]
But apart from his personal risk, it is inhuman and unacceptable to
deport people to Afghanistan, because of the dangerous situation,
caused by the war between the USA/Western troops and the Taliban,
the struggle between the warlords and the common criminals because
of the lack of firm central governmental authority.
This is confirmed by the Dutch ministry in a socalled ”Ambtsbericht”
of 5th july 2012
See the pages 32-35 en 48-63
It is your moral duty not to deport Parwais Sangari
However, when you deport him and he will be killed or injured, THERE WIILL BE
BLOOD ON YOUR HANDS!
An urgent appeal to you, not to cooperate with his deportation
Kind greetings
Astrid Essed
