ACTIEGROEP OCCUPY ROTTERDAM ROEPT OP TOT KRACHTENBUNDELING

Vier maanden na de grote hongerstaking in het vluchtelingen-detentiecentrum van Rotterdam is de actiegroep
van Occupy Rotterdam nog altijd intensief aan de slag met de opgesloten vluchtelingen. Twee maal per week
wordt er actie gevoerd bij het detentiecentrum. Tijdens deze acties wordt een telefoonnummer omgeroepen voor hulp en bezoek. Daar wordt flink op gereageerd. Leden van de actiegroep leggen bezoeken af. De vluchtelingen doen hun verhaal. Advocaten worden nagebeld. Voor velen is de situatie tamelijk uitzichtloos.

Gesloten centra of detentiecentra vertegenwoordigen een donkere fase in het asiel- en uitzetproces in België en Nederland. Vluchtelingen worden er opgesloten in afwachting van de uitslag van hun asielprocedure of uitzetting, maar in de centra heerst een gevangenisregime. Het is precies dat regime, gepaard met wanhoop en onzekerheid, dat vluchtelingen tot hongerstaking of zelfs zelfmoord drijft. DeWereldMorgen.be verzamelde een aantal verhalen.

De meeste mensen hebben er geen idee van hoe het leven in een gesloten detentiecentrum eruit ziet. De vluchtelingen die er opgesloten zitten leven in isolatie, ze hebben nauwelijks contact met de buitenwereld en als ze de centra verlaten, dan is dat meestal ofwel voor uitzetting, ofwel voor een leven in de illegaliteit. Mistoestanden of gebeurtenissen in de centra krijgen zo nauwelijks de kans om de maatschappij te bereiken.

Er zijn echter groepen mensen en organisaties die zich wel degelijk bekommeren om de omstandigheden in de gesloten centra: ze bezoeken de opgesloten vluchtelingen, brengen verhalen naar buiten, kaarten misstanden aan en vergaren informatie. Ze bieden een luisterend oor, geven praktische en soms juridische hulp en vormen zo een belangrijk steunpunt voor de opgesloten vluchtelingen.

In eerdere artikelen is al gesproken over de problematiek die asielzoekers tegen komen als ze in Nederland proberen asiel aan te vragen, mede gezien het zgn. ‘humane asielbeleid’ van de heer Teeven.

Voor degenen die in de detentiecentra terecht komen is er de mogelijkheid om – bij problemen – een arts te consulteren, echter vaak komt het voor dat AZC-artsen de patiënt niet willen zien en een document in het dossier steken waarop straat  dat deze gezond is en uitgezet kan worden. Voor de zieke asielzoeker is er altijd nog de mogelijkheid van een vertrouwensarts. Elcke Bonsen , die samen met haar man Jack een praktijk runt, is zo’n vertrouwensarts.  Op de site van Socialisme.nu van 20 juni 2013 laat Elcke schrijven: “Het is ongelooflijk wat daar gebeurt. Er is heel veel intimidatie, er is echt sprake van een inhumane behandeling. Er wordt zoveel druk op de mensen gezet. En als dat niet werkt, dan gaan de mensen de isoleercel in, om hen werkelijk te breken. En drie weken isoleercel is werkelijke marteling.”

Deportation charter flights. They are a military operation. They are covered in the utmost secrecy. So much for a transparent democratic state! How much different are these mass deportations from the trains that left for the concentration camps during the second World War?

Ah, but they are not similar at all! The Nazi’s were crude, blatant fascists and they did not really try to hide what they were up to. Not that it made any difference.. the Dutch government sent back Jews that took refuge in the Netherlands, because Hitler was a friendly head of state they did not want to offend. This is a clear similarity to the current Dutch (and European) policy regarding refugees. After all, sending people back to unsafe countries is exactly the same practice today! But you got to hand it to them: the Dutch (or any other European) government did and does not mass murder anyone themselves, they merely cooperate, which of course is an entirely different thing. All they do is to not safeguard refugees from torture and murder, as they organize their deportation.

[Tanou Dallio]/Uitgezette hongerstaker krijgt schadevergoeding

UITGEZETTE HONGERSTAKER KRIJGT SCHADEVERGOEDING

 

11 AUGUSTUS 2013

 

Een van de hongerstakers die op 1 augustus naar Guinee is uitgezet krijgt een schadevergoeding van 1840 euro van de Nederlandse Staat. Issa Koulibaly zat ten onrechte in het Justitieel Detentiecentrum in Scheveningen. Dat heeft een rechter op 9 augustus in Amsterdam bepaald. Bovendien moet de Nederlandse Staat de proceskosten tot een bedrag van 472 euro op zijn rekening nemen.

(Moscow) – Moscow police have detained thousands of suspected irregular migrants since late July 2013, for alleged violation of migration and employment regulations. Hundreds are in custody, including in a makeshift tent camp in inhuman conditions. Russia should immediately halt these arbitrary detentions and the degrading treatment of migrants.
