Your Excellency
I want to draw your attention for the following:
Recently I have .learnt, that you are one of the sponsors
of ”Spot on Israeli Theatre”, a cultural event, which has
been organised by the Stichting Rainbow.
Your involvement shows the official governmental interest
in this project.
Since the State of Israel, the country, that you represents
in the Netherlands, is a 47 years occupying country of
the Palestinian territories and Syrian Golan Heights,
I am of the opinion, that no cultural ties must exist
between Israel and other countries, as long as Israel
doesn’t obey the rules of civilisation and International
Law to end the occupation and respect the
fundamental human rights.
Therefore I have written underlying letter
to the Director of Stichting Rainbow, which has
organised this cultural event.

weekendevenement ”Spot on the Israeli Theatre”
Geacht Bestuur,
Naar aanleiding van uw sponsoring van ”Spot on the Israeli Theatre”
schrijf ik u deze brief.
Ik ben teleurgesteld en verontwaardigd over uw sponsoring
van de komst naar Nederland van Israelische theaterkunstenaars
en hun performances en workshops het aanstaande weekend
[12/13/14 september] [1]
Uiteraard bent u op de hoogte van de 47 jarige Israelische
bezetting van de Palestijnse gebied, waaraan inherent onderdrukking,
mensenrechtenschendingen en oorlogsmisdaden.
Ik ben van mening, dat een dergelijke Staat, die sinds
jaar en dag het Internationaal Recht aan zijn laars lapt,
op ieder gebied dient te worden geboycot, zolang
zij doorgaat op de ingeslagen weg, wat hier concreet
betekent, de bezetting van de Palestijnse gebieden.
Met uw sponsoring van dit culturele evenement
[wat nota bene ook wordt gesponsord door
de Israelische ambassade] bent u moreel
medeverantwoordelijk voor de promoting
van een bezettingsstaat.
Mijn oproep aan u is dus, geen enkele sponsoring
meer te geven aan culturele events uit Israel,
zolang de bezetting niet wordt beeindigd.

Dear Management,
I want to draw your attention for the following
I am very disappointed and indignated about your
sponsoring of the coming cultural weekend event
”Spot on the Israeli Theatre”. [1]
Of course you are aware of the 47 years Israeli
occupation of the Palestinian territories, with the
unevitable
opression, human rights violations and war crimes.
I am of the opinion that a State, which utterly
has no respect for International Law, should be
boycotted with all means, as long as she continues
to violate International Law, which means here
the occupation of the Palestinian territories.
By sponsoring this cultural event [with your
co sponsor, the Israeli Embassy], you are morally
responsible for the promoting of an occupying
State.
My request to you is, not to sponsor
any cultural Israeli event in the future
any more, as long as Israel doesn’t end
the occupation.
